The House System

At Mrs. Bullmore’s Matriculation School, the House System plays a vital role in student development, fostering a sense of unity, leadership, and personal growth. This system is designed to bring the school motto—Perseverance, Love, Service—to life in the day-to-day experiences of every student. Through this structure, students gain opportunities to develop critical skills and values that extend beyond academics. The key objectives of the House System are:

  • Leadership Training: By providing leadership opportunities in house activities and competitions, students are encouraged to take responsibility and make decisions that benefit their house and peers.
  • Fostering Healthy Competition: The House System cultivates a spirit of friendly competition, motivating students to excel and give their best in various co-curricular activities.
  • Showcasing Hidden Talents: Through diverse house-based competitions, students have the chance to discover and demonstrate their talents in areas such as arts, academics, and sports.
  • Promoting Loyalty and Cooperation: The system emphasizes loyalty to one’s house, teamwork, and mutual support, which helps students develop a sense of community and responsibility.

Students are classified into four categories based on age:

  • Sub Juniors
  • Juniors
  • Inters, and
  • Seniors

Each student is assigned to one of four houses, which compete throughout the year in various school-wide events, including:

  • General Knowledge quizzes,
  • Exhibitions
  • Fancy Dress competitions,
  • Dramatics
  • Elocution contests,
  • Music and Drawing competitions.

These events encourage student participation, helping them build confidence and showcase their skills in different fields.
